While not playing on the district circuit last weekend, Kelly Kerlin’s team moved into sole possession of second place in 23-5A with Galena Park losing at Galveston Ball Friday. Santa Fe leads the district standings with a 10-2 mark, followed by 8-3 Manvel and Ball, Elkins and Park, who are tied for third place with 8-4 marks.
Damon Fernandez and Jonathan Jones drove in two runs apiece for Manvel at St. Pius and Eric Benitez added two hits.
