The Mavericks fell victim to a Wildcat rally on Friday in Angleton to put their playoff hopes in jeopardy.
Manvel led 27-18 at intermission, but the Wildcats went on a 19-12 run in the third period to cut the gap to 39-37 and then outscored the Mavs by a 22-16 margin during the final eight minutes.
The Mavs next host Rosenberg Terry on Tuesday at 7 p.m.
Manvel girls 59 Angleton 39 - The co-leading Lady Mavericks (30-3 overall, 12-1 in 24-5A) jumped to a commanding 26-4 first quarter lead and never looked back Friday night at home.
Joy Chanslor led the way with 21 points and Annessa Dussette added 12 points.
