Leading the way for the Mavs on the boys’ side was Layden Robinson with a first place in the shot put (50-08) and second place in the discus (127-03), Julio Ramirez with a first place in the 3200 (10:22.41) and Caleb Malbrough with a first place in the triple jump (45-05).
Aryn Johnson captured top honors for Manvel on the girls’ side in the triple jump (36-07.25).
Breanna Clark, of Alvin, won the 800 meters in the girls’ 6A division of the 23/24 meet.
Ashton O’Connor led the way for Shadow in the 5A boys’ division for districts 23 and 24 with a first place in the 100 meters (10.32) and a second place in the 200 (20.87), while Lady Shark Victoria Wright won the girls’ 100 meters (11.95) and took second in the long jump (18-00) and Morgan Shelton won the girls’ discus (118-11) and was second in the shot put (34-11.25).
Second places for Manvel included Adam Mason in the boys’ 800 (1:58.73), John Robinson in the boys’ 300 hurdles (39.66), Amanda Mason in the girls’ 3200 (13:28.67), Sydnee Williams in the girls’ 100 (14.34), Desirae Roberts in the girls’ 300 hurdles (48.01) and Sarah Maddux-hensley in the girls’ pole vault (6-0).
